Biochemical engineering and manipulation of biological molecules.

Research Project
The goal of my summer research experience was to validate that the Duke optical trap was able to stretch DNA. In order to do this, the DNA had to first be attached to a microscope slide and a polystyrene bead. The bead served as the handle in stretching experiments.
