- Pursuing BS in Biomedical Engineering at University of Rochester
Research Interest
I am a Biomedical Engineering major with a concentration in Biomechanics and an Optics minor. I have taken a variety of courses in both disciplines. Biomedical Engineering courses include: Biomedical Signals and Measurements, Biomedical Computations, Fundamentals of Biomechanics - Statics and Dynamics, MATLAB for Biomechanics, Solid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Circuits, Anatomy, Principles of Biology, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Ethical Decisions in Medicine. My Optics background comes from the Institute of Optics and includes the following courses: Laser Systems, Computational Methods in Optics, Geometrical Optics, Interference and Diffraction, and Optics and the Information Age. After completing my B.S. Degree I plan on attending graduate school and working toward a pH.D. that integrates Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, and Optics.
Research Project
This summer, I will be working in Dr. Robert Clark's lab under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Cole. I will be correcting for aberration in the optical trap using adaptive optics.
